Terrorism and state security cases will be seen by Shariah courts for the Kingdom's justice system does not exclude any law case, said Minister of Justice Muhammad Al-Issa here Tuesday. Addressing the first judiciary forum on terrorism and security state crimes, Al-Issa stressed the capability of the Saudi judiciary in dealing with all types of cases in accordance with Sahria jurisdiction without influence and intervention from any party outside the judiciary authority. He said, “Courts sentenced some of those implicated in terrorism crimes and acquitted others. All justice measures and guarantees are strictly applied to all cases regardless of their types.” He said Article 47 of the Basic Governance System stipulates that all people have equal right to trial in the Kingdom pointing out that Article 48 of the same system stipulates that courts should apply the Islamic Shariah rules to all cases they see. In addition to this “Article 49 confirms that all cases fall under the jurisdiction of the Shraia courts so that they are authorized to look into all kinds of disputes and crimes besides setting up a specialist court to decide the Shariah penalties for these crimes – terrorism and state security cases.” He said. The minister said, “Those who advocate the importance of changing the Shariah syllabi make a grave mistake since the Kingdom is founded on the genuine Islamic principles. These principles have made us more tolerant, moderate.” Al-Issa said some of those who embraced the deviant thought have rebelled against the masterminds of the deviant thought thus they branded them as “infidels” while maintaining their deviant stand. “I need not mention that enthusiasm without knowledge and wisdom leads to nowhere but to extremism.”
