Pujols stayed in the game after a throw to the plate glanced off his helmet ear flap in the fifth, Ludwick finished with four RBIs and Adam Wainwright (9-4) pitched into the eighth after a shaky start. The Mariners have lost six of seven, fizzling after Ichiro Suzuki hit the second pitch of the game for his 31st career leadoff homer. Luke French (0-1) allowed four runs in four innings. Pujols broke for the plate on David Freese's chopper to third during St. Louis' four-run fifth and was struck by Jose Lopez's errant throw. He was helped off the field by teammate Yadier Molina after receiving treatment from a trainer, but just moments later was chatting with teammates in the dugout. Blue Jays 6, Padres 3: At San Diego, John Buck homered twice and Aaron Hill had three doubles and three RBIs to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-3 win over the San Diego Padres. Play stopped momentarily in the eighth inning as Petco Park swayed during an earthquake. David Eckstein had just grounded out in the bottom of the inning when the stadium began shaking. The next batter, Chase Headley, stayed out of the batter's box for a few seconds, then stepped in. The public address announcer asked that everyone remain calm. The crowd cheered. Jon Garland (6-5) allowed four runs and six hits in five innings. He struck out seven and walked four. Shaun Marcum (6-3) pitched seven innings for Toronto, yielding three runs, two earned, and six hits. Kevin Gregg worked the ninth for his 16th save in 19 chances. Brewers 12, Angels 2: At California, Ryan Braun hit a grand slam and Casey McGehee added a solo shot off the glove of a leaping Torii Hunter, leading Randy Wolf and Milwaukee to a victory over Los Angeles. Giants 10, Orioles 2: At San Francisco, Pat Burrell homered for the second time in four days, Freddy Sanchez drove in four runs as San Francisco won its fourth straight victory.
