Top Saudi companies to help graduates find ideal jobs
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 05 - 2008

Around 130 leading and top companies and corporate organizations will unveil employment opportunities to this year's university graduates with the hope of providing them jobs and long-term careers.
The companies will be taking part in the annual King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) career day. The career day opens Monday at the university exhibition building here.
The career day will be officially opened by Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd, Emir of Eastern Province, who himself has established a program called Prince Muhammad Program for Qualifying and Employing Saudi Youth. The program provides employment opportunities to young Saudis.
Human resources and personnel managers of some 130 companies will be at hand to meet and interview the graduates and coach them how to process themselves to get employed during the four-day career day, which will last until May 29.
Expected to seek job opportunities during the career day are some 1,250 KFUPM graduates, in addition to other graduates from other universities, colleges and technical and vocation schools in Eastern Province.
Among the companies that will showcase their job opportunities to the graduates are Saudi Aramco, the affiliate companies of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Saudi Electric Company, Saudi Telephone Company, Saudi Railways Organization, Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Marafiq, banks and leading industrial and manufacturing companies.
Foreign companies, such as those from China, which have joint venture projects in the Kingdom, are also expected to join the career day. All companies have their respective stands and facilities to receive the applicants.
Dr. Talat M. Al-Kharroubi, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for Employment & Training and Chairman of the Career Day Organizing Committee, said that demand to employ new university graduates has been increasing every year due to the requirement that national companies and corporate groups increased their employment of qualified Saudis.
He said career specialists from these companies will provide comprehensive information and orientation to prospective candidates on how their companies help the new graduates improve their performance with management training, on-the-job training, and the tools of upgrading their skills. __
