Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section) will fight it out with Hala International School in the final of the SCC Under-15 Inter-School Cricket Championship 2007-8 which is organized by Saudi Cricket Center at the Eskan cricket complex here In the semifinals, PISJ-ES defeated International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) while Hala thrashed Bangladesh International School (ES). An inspired Hala prevailed over Bangladesh School by 18 runs in the first semifinal. Batting first, Hala scored 157-4 in 20 overs. Ahmad played a vital role in building up the innings. He scored a watchful 39 and provided solid support to Hassan (27), Sameer (25), Emad (22) and Zubair (23 not out). Shajeeb captured 2 for 30 and Omer 1 for 16. Chasing a fighting total, Bangladesh School was all out for 139 runs in 17 overs. Reyan produced some fireworks with the bat and wrapped some honor with a sizzling 64 (8 boundaries). He shared a 70-run partnership with Shajeeb (31). The wickets tumbled at both the ends and no other batsman reached double figures. Sameer grabbed 2 for 11 while Zubair, Ali, Emad and Hassan snatched one wicket each. In the other semifinal, IISJ suffered a big blow when its star batsman Zubaid was caught for 14. IISJ, struggling against the refined bowling of PISJ-ES, managed to score 129-7. Farhan Kazi, held on for 29 while Tahir (14), Abdullah (13) and Salman (12) also contributed to build up a respectable total. Mohammad of PISJ took 3 for 23 while Usman and Zain claimed 2 each. In reply, PISJ-ES completely dominated the encounter. The PISJ batsmen overhauled the target without much fuss with 3 overs to spare while losing 5 wickets to the accurate bowling of IISJ. Shoaib (36), Abdullah (28), Faisal (24 n.o.) and Farooq (13) played a substantial role while leading the team to victory. Farhan Kazi was the pick of the bowlers with 2-29, while Zubaid, Touseef and Adnan took 1 wicket each. Sohail Shah, Khalil Kazi, Arshad Chohan and Mushtaq Patel supervised the matches and jointly nominated Shoaib of PISJ-ES and Reyan of Bangladesh for the Man of the Match awards. __
