Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, riding Quebec emerged champion of the Equestrian championship which was organized by the Saudi Equestrian Federation here. The Saudi rider Al-Sharbatly was followed by Fahd Al-Eid and Khaled Al-Eid in second and third places respectively. The championship is patronized by Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal, Vice Chairman of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare and the President of the Equestrian Federation, along with Prince Abdullah Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah, Vice President of the Saudi Equestrian Federation. Champion Al-Sharbatly won the King Abdul Aziz Cup and a Black Toyota Aurion from Abdul Latif Jameel Company being the winner. The excitement reached its peak in the 13th round which was considered as the championship Grand Prix run. Nine experienced and strong horse riders qualified for the final round. And Al-Sharbatly stole the show. Prince Nawaf awarded Bayt Al-Riyadh Cup from the main sponsor of the championship for the winner of the 12th run to Khaled Abdul Latif. In the second position was Abdurrahman Al-Hazani. Fares Al-Khatab Abdulkareem stood third. Mohammad Ba Hassan, ALJ public relations and events manager said that the championship lasted for four days with exciting competition among the elite of the 69 Saudi horse riders under the leadership of Khaled Eid, the Kingdom national team captain. He thanked Prince Nawaf for his presence in the final and the support and special care for the equestrian activities. He also added that ALJ awarded the car to show its support for this sport and to encourage young people for equestrian events. He also congratulated the winners.
