The Morning and Afternoon Tournaments of the Western Province Cricket Association have reached the final stage. In the finals of the Morning Tournament, ATS will take on Attieh Steel and it will be Safra Prime vs. SGB Baroom in the Afternoon Division. ATS overpowered My Care Green by 4 wickets and in the other semifinal, Attieh Steel had the last laugh against Hala International School. In the Afternoon Division Safra Prime thrashed the highly rated Mardan Cricket Club and SGB Baroom defeated Zultrack on technical grounds. Safra Prime, opting to bat first, racked up 218-2 in the stipulated 20 overs. Abdullah Zahid in awesome touch did not spare any MCC bowler and hit 15 boundaries and a six to compile an unbeaten 93 in just 36 balls. His partner Jabbar made 57 not out in 33 balls and together they added 113 runs for the unbeaten third wicket. Adalat made 39 in 24 deliveries. For MCC, Khalid took 1-42 and Asim 1-25. MCC responding to this huge target of requiring almost 11 runs per over was restricted to 181 thus lost by 37 runs. Only Owais resisted with a well compiled 50 in 31 balls. Aftab had a quickfire 35from 11 balls and skipper Asad chipped in with 24 off 8 balls. Ijaz took 2-32, Abdullah 1-32 and Jabbar 1-40. SGB Baroom piled up 206 in 20 overs against Zultrack through Ghayour (54 in 29 balls), Omer 28, Manjeet 27 and Rehan 20. For Zultrack, Subail scalped 2-20 while Imtiyaz, Imran, Arif and Khadim had one wicket each. Zultrack, in reply, was stranded at 103-4 and lost by 103 runs as it forfeited the match. Imran made 33 in 16 balls, Emad scored 31 and Sadaqat remained unbeaten on 20. In the Morning tourney, Hala Intenational School used the track first and plundered 214-6 against Attieh Steel. Ali Zaman hammered a fine 93 in 55 balls and Zubeir made 36 with 3 sixes and 3 fours. Akram hit 21. Tareq took 2-25 and Shahid 2-23 Asad and Moazzem one each. Attieh Steel achieved the winning target of 215 with one over and 4 wickets to spare. Moazzem plundered the Hala bowlers all over the ground with 5 sixes and 5 fours for 63 while Kaashif made 34 in 22 balls, Faiz made 32 in 16 balls and Osman contributed 24 off 11 balls. For Hala International School, Raffi scalped 2-10, Ali Zaman 2-27 while Akram and Zuber got one each. In the second semis, My Care Green, opting to bat first, came up with 181-6. Mohammed Aslam Guddu cracked 76 with 10 fours and a six, Yaser made 39 and Habib stroked 29. For ATS, Furqan grabbed 2-26, Adil 1-46, Shafiq 1-28 and Afroze got one. ATS, in reply, was in trouble at one stage when it lost 4 wickets in the space of 14 runs. It slumped from 60 without loss to 74-4. But evergreen Abdul Moeed kept his cool to remain unbeaten on 76 off 47 balls, Furqan made 33 in 17 balls and Adil contributed 27 in 12 balls to turn the tables on their rivals. For My Care Green, Aftab grabbed 3-18 while Yasser, Atta and Aslam grabbed one wicket each. __
