A girl who had run away from her family in Taif was found on Sunday when a family at a park in the Al-Qamari District reported a suspiciously “female-looking” Saudi in a thobe and ghutra headdress. The family's attention was reportedly drawn by “flowing female locks” protruding from beneath the headdress, and officers took the individual in for questioning after having been met initially with resistance. Subsequent investigations revealed that the woman had been reported to the authorities as having run away from home and that she suffered from a “mental illness”.
