Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, was on Saturday night briefed on the Islamic Affairs Ministry's programs on enhancing the role of imams and khateebs and preachers in achieving intellectual security and combating terrorism as well as strengthening patriotism. The briefing was given by Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdulaziz Aal Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, who called on Prince Naif along with ministry's undersecretaries and senior officials. Prince Naif said the imams and preachers in mosques need to educate citizens and expatriates about the importance of intellectual security in combating the deviant ideology which has “dragged many of our youth and young people who unfortunately are fuel of vehement outbursts in various areas of the world.” Prince Naif urged all representatives of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, especially the preachers, as well as universities and schools and the media to combat the extremist ideology which is out to charge the state and its respected Ulema (scholars) of infidelity.
