Border Guard patrols whose suspicions were raised by a vehicle in Al-Muwassam Rabi'a on Thursday engaged in a pursuit which ended with the driver abandoning his car and fleeing on foot. Officers said that an initial search of the vehicle failed to find any contraband items, but once wheel cavities and front and rear bumpers were opened they discovered an unstated number of bundles of the banned leaf qat.
