Subscribers to Mobily's 1-gigabyte Connect bundles will get three months for free, the company announced on Saturday. For the usual SR245, subscriber's sill gets an HSPA modem and a data SIM card, but instead of only one gigabyte for one month, they get three months. The offer is valid for both prepaid and post paid subscribers until May 10, 2010. Mobily's HSPA-enabled Connect devices have proven to be the most popular in the Kingdom, thanks to high upload speeds that almost match those for download. Mobily was the first operator to introduce a device with fast uploading. Hassle-free USB connectivity and the compact size of the device also helped make it an Internet pocket rocket. Mobily's 3.5G network is accessible in 80 percent of the Kingdom's populated areas, making it the biggest 3.5G network in the entire Middle East. Where 3.5G is available, Mobily's subscribers can enjoy fast, hassle-free Internet connectivity, which contributed to Mobily having one million subscribers - and counting. These subscribers are generating more than 50 terabytes of data traffic a day. Just last month, Mobily had launched two new HSPA+ devices. Dubbed “Turbo”, one is a Connect USB modem and the other is a very compact, highly portable router. Either of the two devices enables users in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al- Khobar to experience speeds of up to 21.6 megabits per second. Mobily is thoroughly working on getting the technology to everyone in the Kingdom. As part of that plan, Mobily also launched its Connect Mini WiFi, which can be used by more than one user anywhere.
