Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 04 - 2010

The foursome attack of team head Ed Sardi?a, Tito Cruz, Cheryl Tibay and Rico Nery shielded Thunderstrikers against Zk-Lujain Connection to be the City Restaurant Team of the Week, while Zaldy Bacero and Aisah Silabay flashed their performance at best to be the Nada Dairy Bowlers of the Week in the 5th session of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Friday Morning Bowling League 9th conference at the Bowling City here.
Solidly backed up by Manny Tibay and Jowet Carreon who both paced beyond their averages, Thunderstrikers started probing opponent with 1,201-1,157, wherein Cheryl thunderously excelled with backbone breaking 246 scratch to match the 227 of team chief Bobby Baraquel on the other side. A 215 follow-up of Baraquel enthused Ferdie Coloma and Dennis Alvarado for a firmer push, but Thunderstrikers punched stiffer with 230 and 203 blasts from Sardi?a and Cruz lifting a 1,241-1,104 wallop of ZK.
Trying to avoid an empty sheet, Baraquel unloaded another 227 scratch which Coloma and Bheng Baraquel augmented with 214 and 202 for a high endgame of 1262 including the shares of Alvarado, Nards Hassan and Jay Bengco. But it's really Thunderstrikers' day as Sardi?a, Nery and Cruz walled their team with 250, 224 and 229. With Cheryl, Manny and Carreon planking prolifically, Thunderstrikers escaped ZK by a pin at 1,263 to slate clean at 3,705-3,523. Cruz led Thunderstrikers' board with 681, followed by Sardi?a 674, Cheryl 651, Nery 627, Carreon 542 and Manny 530. Bobby piloted his team with 669, Coloma with 648, Bengco 599, Bheng 597, Alvarado 537 and Hassan 471.
The second week of Bacero in Genesis squad caused a 20-0 harvest of the Ernie Geslani-led team over defending champions Shawly Bowlers, submitting final tallies of 3,462-3,294. Perfect-game achiever Bacero steered Genesis with superlative games of 278, 248, 257 to brilliantly clinch the Nada Dairy BOW honor with record breaking 783 scratch series. Supporting Bacero best was Genesis team captain Engineer Geslani with 569. Malou Gime, Willie Ansis, Arnold Biblanias and Sean Balingasa laid fair help to Genesis winning cause while Shawly was defended well by Harold Cardenas at 601, Luis Pacobas at 573 and Sally Sa?osa at 571.
Muti titlist Silabay shared honor with Bacero via topping the women's with her 676 handicapped series leading to Dynamic Keglers' sweeping of their beat average condition being unopposed team. Silabay on her lane reaper patented style scorched alleys with games of 206, 238 and 232 to be awarded of Nada Dairy products.

Other matches all showed 16-4 results with Prime Armors (rejuvenated) beating Lance & 3rdy, undermanned Bowling Is Fun defeating Gulf Oil, Sky Freight routing Pins 4 Life and JEM Strikers humbling Falcon.
Rommel Marasigan placed JEM Strikers and himself in spectacle when he recorded a 279 scratch in Game 2. Such stunning show highlighted his Nada Dairy Bowler of the Week-winning score of 657 including his 180 opener and 198 capper. Marasigan's brilliance plus remarkable supports from Jack Jarin, Joel Nidoy and Faisal Relativo delighted JEM Strikers of double celebration as they emerged as City Restaurant Team of the week for posting the best collective output at 3,683 at the end of the 4th session.
Jarin accentuated his contribution of 651 with second best hi-game for the day of 277 on the initial salvo. Nidoy significantly planked Marasigan with 637 from scratch series of 619 with 216 and 206.
