Forty members of the public stepped in to break up a fight between two groups of joyriding youths in a street in Al-Aflaj on Saturday. Police said that officers were called to scene after the youths had began heated arguments that developed into all-out fights while they were practicing stunt driving and skidding in the public thoroughfare, and despite intervention from the public many managed to flee down side streets and back alleys. Two persons were injured in the confrontations, one of whom was taken to hospital, while the other ran away, according to police reports.
