Princess Hissa Bint Trad Al-Shalan, the wife of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Wednesday visited various wings of the Janadriya festival. She was accompanied by Princess Adelah Bint Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, princesses and several female guests of the festival from GCC states and France. Among the pavilions Princess Hissa visited were the Madina wing, and the Ministry of Education wing comprising King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST), kindergartens and centers of student activities. The organizing committee presented memorial shields and paintings drawn by the students to Princess Hissa and Princess Adelah. In a statement, Princess Hissa lauded the efforts of the organizing committee and said that the festival's contents displayed “the Kingdom's rich heritage and folklore inherited from our forefathers.” Advanced countries, she said, are assessed by their old history. “Thank God our beloved country is distinguished for the diversity of its heritage and culture since every region in the Kingdom has its own traditions and customs,” she said. Princess Hissa lauded the presence and participation of Saudi women in the festival and acknowledged the huge potential of Saudi women in contributing to the country's progress and development. She said that the remarkable achievements made by Saudi women in all walks of life speak for themselves.
