Checkpoint police in Al-Hareedha in Asir have over the last two days stopped 14 vehicles attempting to smuggle contraband materials and illegal immigrants into the Kingdom. Five cars were stopped and found to contain a total of 560 bundles of the banned leaf qat which smugglers attempted to hide between women and children passengers, while one man was taken into custody after he was found in possession of 31 Captogon pills. 14 persons were detained for having no identity documents, four of them disguised as women. Four women who a Saudi man claimed were members of his family were also arrested. Officers also impounded three stolen cars and discovered 42 blocks of hashish in two vehicles transporting families.
