A total of SR60 million has been raised from a text message campaign for people suffering from kidney disease in the Kingdom. This was confirmed by Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Salman, the Supervisor General of the Prince Fahd Bin Salman Society for the Care of Kidney Failure Patients. The Prince said that the money was raised from about 191,000 subscribers. Speaking during his inauguration of the kidney disease awareness campaign here on Sunday, Prince Abdul Aziz said he hoped to reach one million subscribers through a media campaign to be launched by Riyadh's Emir Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. He said last year's World's Kidney Day campaign focused on the necessity of early diagnosis of arterial blood pressure and ways to prevent and control it. This condition is one of the world's main causes of kidney failure, he said. A total of 370 medical and scientific gatherings were held on the subject. This year's campaign is entitled “Control your diabetes and protect your kidneys”. He said diabetes was also one of the major conditions that people should be aware of.
