The 7th Jeddah Marathon, with 6,000 contestants and more than 2,000 observers, will be remembered as the city's first international marathon as many athletes from abroad participated in the event. At the awards ceremony, Prince Misha'l expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and efforts of all the sponsors and organizers of the charity marathon. He said that Jeddah was proud to lend its name to a charity marathon and that the committee was happy to organize a sports activity in which the people of the city could participate. “The number of participants showed that we have succeeded and we will continue on this path,” he added. Abdullah Bakhashab, president of the marathon organizing committee, thanked all those who supported, contributed or came to watch the marathon. “The participation of more than 6,000 athletes underlined the difficulty in organizing such an event.
