member rice delegation under the leadership of Malik Muhammad Jahangir, Chairman of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan( REAP), will visit Jeddah from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15. The delegation will take part in the Jeddah Economic Forum, which begins on Feb. 14. The delegation will visit Saudi Arabia with the aim to explore the local market and to inform about the availability of various varieties of rice in Pakistan at a competitive price. The delegation will also be explaining the crop availability and schedule of supplies for a long-term commitment, said Sarfraz Ahmad, Commercial Counselor at the Pakistan consulate. “Our export increased 20% in Saudi Arabia and we are very optimistic and hopeful that in coming years it will increase more. These are very good indicators that showed that the trade relation between the two friendly countries are flourishing and our embassy and consulate are very active and helping our businessmen in every means to increase the relationship between the two countries,” said Ahmad. “We got very good results out of the last visit of rice delegation in March 2009 and because of that rice export increased by 20%. We hope the same success for the rice delegation this time as well,” he said.
