Cornich Blue defeated NGC Jubail by 3 runs to win the Jam'iyyatul Falah (JF) Knockout Charity Cricket Tournament 2010 at DCA grounds here. The tournament which was held for the fourth successive year saw 12 teams from Dammam, Al-Khobar and Jubail in action. In the final, Cornich Blue batted first and scoed 65 runs in the allotted six overs. Sachin scored 15 and Kaizer 22 with 3 mighty sixes. In reply, NGC lost both the openers on the score of one. Then middle order batsmen Anis and Nawaz resisted further collapse and batted steadily till the exciting final over, needing six runs for victory. NGC managed 3 runs and lost the JF champion Cup. Anis scored 41. Earlier, in the semifinals, Cornich Blue defeated Crescent Cricket by six wickets and NGC Jubail won over Ameco cricketers by 20 runs. The champion cup, runner-up cup and the performance awards were presented by chief guest and sponsor Ghulam Shuja of MGA Trading and Shareef Sultan of Saudi Diesel Equipment. Shuja and Shareef lauded the JF organizers for their efforts in organizing sporting events for the welfare of community and charitable works. Mohammed Ansary of Al-Markab Internationals promised his support for such charity events. Mahmood Saad, President of JF, presented mementos to sponsors and active members of JF.
