King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and President of the Supreme Council for Petroleum and Minerals Affairs, presided over the Council meeting in the capital on Sunday. The meeting, attended by Crown Prince Sultan, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General and Vice President of the Supreme Council of Petroleum and Minerals Affairs, and other members of the Supreme Council, reviewed the oil market and the state's investment to expand crude production capacity and refinement and expressed satisfaction that it was running in accordance with the set timetable and ecological protection efforts. The Council approved Saudi Aramco working plans and its two annual reports, and sanctioned its balance sheet and profit and loss accounts. It also approved the appointment of an external accounts controller for Saudi Aramco and its affiliates.
