Saudi forces have regained control of a small border village occupied by infiltrators from Yemen since fighting broke out in November, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation for Military Affairs Prince Khaled Bin Sultan was quoted by SPA as saying Tuesday. “The infiltrators have been eliminated from Al-Jabiri and the whole district has been taken under control,” he said during a visit to the troops in the region. He said four Saudi soldiers have been killed in clashes at the border post near Yemen in which Saudi Arabian forces seized back the position and “destroyed” the infiltrators. Prince Khaled said the infiltrators had been given an ultimatum to leave the Al-Jabiri area where the border post is located within 48 hours. “They did not comply ... All of them have been destroyed,” he said. He said 84 Saudis have been killed and 21 are missing since the Kingdom launched an offensive against Huthis along the border in early November. Prince Khaled said his forces were able to “cleanse” the border village of Al-Jabiri, “pulverizing” the infiltrators who occupied it. Saudi Arabia launched an air and ground offensive against the rebels on Nov. 5.
