Salt N' Pepper, an international chain of restaurants opened in Jeddah eight years ago. Recently the restaurant re-organized to cater for people with different tastes from Pakistani cuisine to Continental. Thai, Chinese, Italian and Mexican cuisines. These various types of cuisines are presented for diners to enjoy by the dedication of particular evenings during the week to different cuisines. These various themes are to continue for three months and the management will then analyze the most popular dishes and then these nights will be organized all year round. To satisfy the taste buds of food lovers, the restaurant has hired three specially qualified chefs from different countries who have specialized in the art of both food preparation and presentation. Indeed, some dishes are not to be missed and those recently introduced include the fish fillet and roast lamb. Kicked off in December, Punjabi cuisine was followed by Thai and Chinese dishes with a “difference”: “We already had Punjabi and Indian nights which were greatly enjoyed by the public. At the moment, Continental nights are going on where the specialities include seafood rice and lime lamb,” explained Faisal Mahmood, the senior marketing manager of the restaurant in Jeddah. “In the Thai special nights, Thai fish and rice will be served retaining the full flavors of Thai food: full of spices and very hot; In our Chinese night, we will introduce Chicken Mongolian and Dry Chicken Chili.” The speciality of the restaurant lies in cuisine from the Subcontinent but the inclusion of international chefs and the introduction of foreign cuisine means that multi-cuisine is here to stay. In the coming days, diners will be able to enjoy Indian food. In Jeddah the restaurant only has one branch but they are planning to open another one “for the Jeddawis” in the Andalus district or near the Corniche.
