Over 25 percent of the state budget has gone to the Ministry of Education, said Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, Minister of Education. The ministry's budget will fund the King Abdullah Project for the Development of Public Education, which is estimated to cost about SR9 billion, the minister said. The new budget has also allocated funds for building 1,200 schools in the Kingdom, in addition to 3,112 school buildings now being constructed. Over 770 new schools have been completed this year and 2,000 schools renovated, refurnished, and provided with fully-equipped labs, Prince Faisal said. The King has called on all ministers to be “diligent” and sincere in their use of funds to fulfill projects outlined in the new state budget.
