Fireball Team showed its supremacy by handing defeat to the famous Bowling City is Fun (BCIF) on week 9 of the FEDBG-FMBL 6th Conference. The reliable Jun Pilipina rocked the lanes with 169, 223 and 224 scratch. The runaway winner Fireball took all gained points with their 2,999 overall pinfalls against the sluggish BCIF's 2,851 to grab the Team of the Week honor. This earned the team free snacks from Ely Sy of City Restaurant. Decent Fireball contributors were Rey Feleciano 609, Serge Rivera 577, Mary Ocampo 550, Vic Bantay 442 and Arnold Biblianias 189. BCIF defended well by Dennis Arevalo and Robert de Guzman, but not enough to block the charging Fireball. Oca Bernabe toppled 622 scratch from his 209, 224 and 189 to lead Micah's Pride in crushing the Artistics Bowlers and keep the team to stay as tough contender for top honor. Francis Alquiros followed the step of Oca and managed to knock 591 tpf from his rounds of 216, 190 and 190. Arnold Santoc's 549 tpf also punished Artistic Bowlers and it accumulated 18 gained points to be at third spot by reducing the gap on the leader. Micah's delight Tita Ester Santoc amassed 658 total series to emerge as the Ladies Division's Bowler of the Week. Ahmed Hajjar of Artistic Bowlers registered highest scratch in the contest with 226 tpf. Golden Saba rose after lukewarm results by thwarting 16-4. Golden Saba's Ernie Geslanie was productive with his 586 total series. Good support came from Willie Ansis with 555 tpf. Terminator got consolation when Oca Evangelista produced the highest output among male bowlers with 180, 259 and 214. He was declared the Bowler of the Week, which entitled him to receive Kanny powdered milk courtesy of SADAFCO. Not to be outdone in its bid to kick the leader, The Champ-Poy won over Luvenor, 14-6. This Jay Bengco team got a scare from Luvenor as Cesar Paran produced 569 total output. Luvenor's Jack Jarin did his part by protecting the possible sweep by The Champ-Poy and succeeded in clipping 4 points to his team. The Champ-Poy is clinging to the leader. The solid Saudia Prime Lane Armors was unstoppable when it picked 16 points at the expense of Arnel Bautista's Shawly Bowlers. Game 1 belonged to Shawly Bowlers when all its bowlers scored above average, led by Max Salang (182) that eventually gave it 4 points. But Armors picked-up and took the remaining games. Armors relied on the high games of Rene Punzalan 221 and 183, Ed Sardenia 215, Melvin Lising 195 and Oliver Malicsi 193. Cobra Team truimphed over Romblomanon 16-4 at 2,823 total series against 2,741. Amer Al-Amri bowled remarkably well with his 592 tpf.
