A number of government and private schools have dedicated a special day this week to celebrate and commemorate the return home of Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz. The Prince Salman Intermediate School used the opportunity Sunday to celebrate the occasion. About 700 students and 45 teachers took part in the festivities. Ahmad Al-Munammas, the school's principal, said the day was very special for Saudi citizens and expatriates. “We feel very happy at the return of one of the King's brothers,” he said. He said the celebration was a natural response from teachers and students to this “very remarkable occasion.” It showed “the depth of our love and devotion for King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his brother Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, who have both led the country to prosperity.” Nayesh Al-Amri, the vice principal, said that they had prepared for the celebration over the previous two weekends. “We tried our best to make this celebration a memorable one, so we held some scholarly competitions for the students to test their knowledge of the achievements of the Crown Prince in all his former positions,” said Al-Amri. “We also encouraged our students to take part in the competitions by having prizes for the winners,” he added. Wael, a grade eight student, said he was happy to join in the activities. He wrote a special poem dedicated to Prince Sultan. “This was a remarkable occasion which may not happen again. I was so proud to have read out my poem in front of my classmates and teachers,” he said.
