The General Administration for Boys' Education in Riyadh has authorized school headmasters in the province to take “any measures deemed necessary” to protect their pupils from rain and flood dangers. Assistant Director General of Education Muhammad Al-Sudairi said that reports from the Presidency for Meteorology and Environmental Protection (PME), as well as warnings from Civil Defense, showed further heavy rains and flooding to be expected. “School principals are to take all the necessary measures they see fit to deal with the climatic conditions and ensure the safety of pupils, and they should follow the reports and warnings issued by the PME and the General Presidency of Civil Defense,” Al-Sudairi said of the 1,800 schools in the province.
