Public and amusement parks in Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province have been provided with more green spaces and flower gardens, lights, rides, shows, and attractions to entertain holiday picnickers, said Fahd Al-Jubair, mayor of Ahsa. More than 1.7 million flowers have been planted over the past few months along the streets and in the plazas and public parks. Four new public plazas have been completed and 70 percent of the work on the Muhairis Palace Park in Al-Mabraz has been done, the mayor added. The new 20,000 sq. m. Hufaira Public Park project in Hafouf is in progress, said Ibrahim Al-Muaili, director of Public Parks at the Asha Mayoralty. Hafouf and Al-Mabraz now have six public parks with a total area of 51,000 sq. m., including King Fahd Public Park. The infrastructure work of the new Ahsa Public Park is now nearly 60 percent complete, he said.
