KHOBAR - Al-Khobar-EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia Ltd., a Saudi-German joint venture, will start large scale local production of mechanical seals for the oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical industry as well as other industrial sectors at its new manufacturing facility in Al-Khobar. The new facility, which is equipped with the most modern and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, will be inaugurated and opened on Oct. 26, 2009. EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia is a partnership between Gas Arabian Services, a leading Saudi company that provides and supplies wide range of products and systems for the energy and industrial sectors, and the EagleBurgmann Group, one of the leading international companies for industrial sealing technology. Christoph Mosmann, CEO of EagleBurgman Germany, said his company is pleased with the opening of the new facility in partnership with Gas Arabian Services. “It is our pleasure to announce the official startup of this new production facility in Saudi Arabia. Our major customers will benefit from short delivery terms, a high level of flexibility and outstanding services,” he said. “The opening of the new facility is an affirmation of EagleBurgmann's continuing long-term plan to expand its global operations. The establishment of our manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia is an indication of the strong confidence to the strength and resiliency of the Saudi economy, the biggest in the Middle East” Mosmann added. Abdulrahman K. Al-Dabal, chairman of EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia, said the establishment of the new facility is not only the expression of the extraordinary business growth, but also of the good relations between Gas Arabian and EagleBurgmann. The relationship between the partners dates back in 1995 when Gas Arabian started trading EagleBurgmann products in the Saudi and Gulf markets, which was later followed by the signing of the joint venture in early 2004 to setup a service facility in Dammam. This service site, which was inaugurated in 2005, was awarded three contracts by the oil, gas, refining and petrochemical sectors, in addition to sales and services to other industries. As demands for various mechanical seals grow in 2009, the new service facility in Dammam was relocated to A-Khobar wherein bigger and expanded manufacturing, service and storage areas were established to comply and meet the increasing requirements of the regional industrial sectors. The new facility, which will be managed and operated by engineers and highly-trained technicians, can manufacture standard, API 682, and engineered mechanical seals, in addition to the state-of-art dynamic testing facility gas compressor dry gas mechanical seals, expansion joints, packing and gaskets. EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia intends to open more sales and service centers in other key areas of the Kingdom to meet the industrial demand.
