As part of its nationwide drive to fight swine flu, the Ministry of Education has ordered emergency cash of SR100 million to provide public schools with thermometers, face masks, sterilizers, disinfectants, and cleaning machines. Since the beginning of the new school year two weeks ago, many schools, especially in the rural areas, have failed to provide their students with essential flu kits. Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry Saleh Al-Humaidi said that the ministry had received fund requests from regional education departments across the Kingdom to step up precautionary measures against swine flu in public schools.
