Prince Ahmad Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Interior, has said that Al-Qaeda's appeal for financial assistance has failed to fetch any response. Following the inauguration of the International Symposium on Disaster Management organized by the Directorate General of Civil Defense under the patronage of Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, who is also chairman of Civil Defense Council, Prince Ahmad said: “People donate for the good, not for the evil.” Experts and researchers from 36 countries attended the symposium. Responding to a question regarding the extradition of two sons of an Al-Qaeda leader from Pakistan, Prince Ahmad said that nothing in that regard had so far materialized but some Saudi nationals who had been misled might be handed over to the Kingdom. He said that the authorities were making all-out efforts to bring all such Saudi nationals back home who were misled by unscrupulous elements. Prince Ahmad vehemently denied any Saudi involvment in Yemen. He said that the Kingdom always assisted its brotherly countries but never interfered in their internal matters. He said: “Doors are open to those who wanted to return. We hope that they come back to their senses and fear Allah.” The International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) also awarded Prince Ahmad with the Medal of Commander in recognition of the Kingdom's efforts in providing assistance and mitigating natural disasters across the globe.
