Strengthening the company's journey towards excellence, Emaar Middle East, the subsidiary of Emaar Properties, has received the International Organization of Standardization's ISO 9001:2008. “Receiving the certification is proof that we are on the right track in our devotion toward complete excellence,” said Eng. Alaa Abdullah Saed, chief executive officer of Emaar Middle East. “The recognition showcases the company's continuous improvement of performance in meeting the quality requirements of its clients and the value-added measures adapted by the company to enhance customer satisfaction.” The world's most accepted quality standard, the ISO 9001:2008 recognizes good quality management practices and the ability to enhance customer satisfaction in supplier-customer relationships. The certification rewards top quality standards and guidelines relating to quality management systems and associated supporting standards. Emaar Middle East's operations were assessed for its adherence to international quality standards; the alliances with contractors, consultants and service providers; productivity; team work; customer satisfaction and commitment to continuous improvement. The audit, carried out by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), covered all aspects of Emaar Middle East's operations and was conducted over a number of days during the month of June, with the certificate being awarded recently on the company's first attempt. The company will continue to be audited every six months by LRQA to ensure that they continually improve their business. Emaar Middle East is currently working on two major projects: the SR6 billion Jeddah Gate is a pioneering master-planned mixed-use community spread over half a million sq m in Jeddah's new downtown, while Al-Khobar Lakes is a luxury lakefront development with phase one set over 2.6 million sq m.
