The Ministry of Education has launched a computer program for scheduling personal interviews for those applying for teaching posts in 15 specializations. The aim is to hire the required number of teachers as the number of applicants has thus far been insufficient to fill posts occupied by expatriate teachers, which are now considered vacant and must be occupied by Saudi nationals. In a statement issued Monday, Muhammad Bin Saad Al-Dukhaini, acting spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, said the deputy ministry for school affairs launched the computer program to enable applicants for teaching posts to file their data. These applicants should have passed the evaluation test for teachers at the National Center for Measurement and Evaluation but they should not have appeared for personal interviews this year. He said the specializations for which teachers are required include mathematics for the secondary and intermediate stages, chemistry, earth sciences, biology, English language, physical education, fine arts, religion for the primary stage, learning difficulties, autism, speech defects, hearing and mental disability and reading difficulty. He called on graduates in sight disability to visit the Teachers' Relations Administration in the ministry to fill out the relevant forms and to bring with them their Saudi identity cards, original degrees and academic register. Al-Dukhaini said personal interviews would be conducted in Dr. Ibrahim Al-Drees Hall at the ministry's headquarters from Aug. 8 to 12 from 4 to 10 P.M. Applicants can schedule their personal interviews by means of the new computer program.
