Police here announced Wednesday the detention of 17 Saudis in possession of firearms without a license and 119 pieces of ammunition around the capital. A total of 938 persons of various nationalities had been arrested over the past six months with 1,091 weapons and 13,210 pieces of live ammunition, a police statement here said. The 17 Saudis were stopped by officials at various checkpoints in the capital and were found to be carrying various types of guns as well as ammunition.
