The Ministry of Higher Education is working on a plan to restructure colleges and universities in a way to meet the requirements of the local market. Dr. Muhammed Al-Auhali, the ministry's undersecretary for educational affairs, said the ministry was currently engaged in restructuring health colleges which have been affiliated to the ministry. He said that the unified admissions system of Saudi universities would be carried out systematically in phases, pointing out that Dr. Khalid Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, would preside over a meeting of the presidents of Saudi universities next week to discuss the admission arrangements for graduates of secondary schools for the new academic year 2009
