An Islamic art exhibition on the Seal of the Prophets is being held at Ibda'a art center this week. The expo that started on June 9 by Fowzia Al-Gothmi, a Saudi artist and teacher of Islamic studies at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, will focus on Prophet Muhammad's unique status as the last and final prophet to mankind. “The main aim behind orgnizing this art exhibition is to convey the message to the world that Mohammad (peace be upon him) was the last prophet and no prophet will come after him and that no one before him was the last prophet,” said Fowzia Al- Gothmi. “I have taken verses from the Qur'an where the Creator of the universe Himself said that Muhammad is the last prophet.” Fowzia collected all pertaining verses and has presented them in an artistic form with translations of its meanings in different languages for people to understand. Though Fowzia has participated in several art exhibitions and competitions in the Gulf, this is her first solo exhibition. “It was my dream that whenever I did my solo exhibition, it had to be something that would be a contribution to my religion and the Muslim Ummah,” Fowzia said. “Work on the Seal of the Prophets is a result of several years of hard work and I am really glad that I was able to complete it,” she added. She intends to hold her next exhibition on the creation of human being by Allah Almighty. Sana Bint Mohammad Bin Laden inaugurated the exhibition. “The exhibition is as perfect as I was expecting,” Sana said praising Fowzia's efforts. “She used different techniques especially the touch of brown color takes you back to the Prophet's times and close to the mother earth.” “I think it would be better if this exhibition gets more international exposure. I suggest she takes this exhibition at least to Gulf countries, if not worldwide” Sana added.
