For the second consecutive year, the National Commercial Bank is participating in sponsoring the Turkish Arab Economic Forum in its fourth annual session, which kicks off in Istanbul on June 11-12 at Hotel Suisse. The forum is brought by Al Iktissad Wal Aamaal group, in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Finance and the Foreign Economic Relations Committee in Turkey and the League of Arab States. Abdullah Bahamdan, chairman of Board of the National Commercial Bank, who heads a delegation of senior officials representing NCB in the event, emphasized the importance of this event since its inception in 2005 in promoting economic cooperation between Arab countries and Turkey. Bahamdan said the event this year comes at a time of particular significance especially under the current global economic condition and the growing trend towards focusing on regional economic cooperation as an effective strategy in facing the repercussions of the global crisis. This strategy, he affirmed, will stimulate economic growth in the countries of the region. He said Turkish Arab economic relations have witnessed great transformation and progress in recent years and that Arab investments in Turkey are growing steadily in various sectors whereas the role of Turkish contracting companies on the other side is growing exponentially in executing several projects in Arab countries.
