Authorities in Taif have seized large quantities of dubious treatments for ailments at outlets in Taif selling creams and preparations of unknown origin and traditional herbal remedies. A spokesman for Health Affairs in the region said that over 50 types of ointment were removed from shelves, along with various honey preparations and creams claiming to provide medicinal benefits. “People should be wary of unlicensed remedies,” the spokesman said, “and ignore the claims of advertisements and offers for products that have no relation with medicine and can pose a threat to public health.”
