The Muslim Educational Society – Jeddah held the ‘General Talent Competition - 2009' at the Indian Consulate last Friday. Students – both boys and girls – from various Indian schools participated in three different levels of the competition, which began in April. The final round on Friday was judged by six personalities from different streams of life, who interviewed the participants and decided upon the winners. The following are the first prize winners in various categories: Girls Category: Hiba Gulam Nabi – International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ); Reja Perveen – IISJ; and Leena Abdul Jabbar – IISJ; Boys Category: Abin Raji Varghese – IISJ; Sayantan Das – Delhi Public School (DPS); and Zuhair Mazhar – IISJ. The event was attended by about 500 people including several Indian diplomats as well. Indian Consul General Sayeed Ahmed Baba was the chief guest.
