Brother International Corporation Gulf (BICG), a global leader in the development and manufacturing of printing, communication and digital imaging products for homes, SOHOs and enterprises, has named Arabian Business Machines Company (ABM) Olayan as its new distribution partner in Saudi Arabia. The partnership is in line with the manufacturer's aims to leverage the rising IT spending in the Kingdom, which has reached $3.4 billion in 2008 and is expected to hit $5.6 billion by 2013. For over 20 years, ABM Olayan has served the Saudi Arabia business community with a range of state-of-the-art products. Headquartered in Riyadh, the distributor is a wholly owned operating company of The Olayan Group, whose businesses includes office automation technology, detection security products, physical security (storage products), computers and software products, and technical services. Brother has identified ABM Olayan's extensive reach across the Kingdom, which can help boost awareness and sales of its wide range of products. “Our commitment as the pioneer of the MFC technology goes beyond developing innovative features and incorporating them within the existing models - it also involves us constantly seeking ways to make our products more accessible to end-users,” said Shinji Tada, managing director, BICG. With the Saudi economy expected to expand by 4.9 percent this year, Brother sees the Kingdom as a key market for its products, especially in the MFC segment. Amidst expectations of a significant rise in demand for space-saving office equipment as a result of the growth of the SMB sector in Saudi Arabia, the manufacturer is keen on leveraging the current scenario by showcasing its innovative, cost effective, user-friendly and space-efficient products, in addition to its new range of affordable wireless network-ready devices. In line with this, the company previously announced plans to roll out an online eMarketing campaign targeting the entire Saudi market, which will not only increase awareness but also drive its growth within the lucrative segment. “Our partnership with Brother complements our commitment towards offering the best products and service, which can help companies increase their productivity. We are proud to be associated with a global leading brand such as Brother, whose breakthrough technologies and innovations continuously take office automation to the next level. We are confident that this partnership will not only drive the reach of Brother products, but largely benefit the SMB and Enterprise community in the Kingdom as well,” said Wael Fulayhan, general manager, ABM Olayan.
