Saudi Arabia and Germany signed a security cooperation pact here Wednesday evening. The intelligence-sharing agreement signed by Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz and German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble will encompass possible terrorist financing and money-laundering. Prince Naif said the draft agreement left none of the security tasks untouched. They even agreed on the method of dealing with each aspect and the positive and practical measures. Prince Naif expressed his hope that there would be international cooperation to dry up the sources of terrorism and return terrorists to their societies as good citizens. He said the Kingdom was working in creating channels for positive and practical cooperation with all security agencies in the world. Prince Naif said the campaign against the Kingdom due to the acts of a few Saudis was unjustified, as they form a mere minority. He stressed, “They do not represent Islam in any way, rather they have deviated from Islam.” He said the Saudi media has a role to play in carrying this message to other people. Prince Naif expressed hope that the intellectual strategy or intellectual security would play this role. He drew attention to the existence of good cooperation between the Kingdom and a number of countries in exchanging information and (views on) issues as well as regional cooperation with Arab countries in general and GCC states in particular. Prince Naif affirmed stance of the Kingdom with the unity and stability of Yemen. “The Kingdom is standing by Yemen in any thing it wants,” he said. On Thursday, Prince Naif arrived in the Eastern Province.
