Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon) started the process of attracting the industrial projects as the number of applications requesting industrial lands in Al-Kharj Industrial city exceeded 160 applications. Currently, applications are being processed and accepted electronically through Modon's website. Dr. Tawfig bin Fawzan Alrabiah, director general of Modon, announced that such accomplishment was achieved in a record time as the development contract has been signed six months ago. Among the projects for which lands have been allocated in Al- Kharj Industrial City are shown below as follows: 1. R.D.P Al-Saif Company Limited was allotted an area of 221,067 square meters for the production of ready mix concrete, at a cost of up to SR161 million. 2. Saudi Technology Base Factory for Recycling of used oil was allocated an area of 103,331 square meters at a cost of up to SR159 million. Al-Kharj Industrial city is about 99m square meters, of which development of the first phase of 5m square meters area at a cost of SR54m has been initiated. Al-Kharj Industrial City will be a distinguished model with suitable environment for the factories and will provide job opportunities for Saudis estimated at more than 10 thousand jobs. The industrial city will attract industrial investments of more than SR400 million after the completion of the final development phases. It will provide an investment opportunity for investors in the region of Riyadh, where Al-Kharj Industrial city is about 100 km from Riyadh. The general plan of the industrial city consists of areas used for industrial activities, residential uses and commercial activities, marketing exhibitions, service center and public facilities, roads and warehouses, so that all businessmen may have the opportunity to invest in various available investment opportunities, whether industrial, residential, commercial or in the service sector. Al-Kharj Directorate has several industrial activities such as (food stuff industries, beverages and textiles industry, ready-made garments and leather, paper, printing and publishing industry, chemical and plastic products industry, building materials industry, porcelain, ceramics, pottery and glass industries, manufactured mineral products, machinery and equipment, grain and food storage industry). __
