The Kingdom will become a special civil aviation education center using the most developed techniques in aviation science, according to Abdullah Noor Rahimi, President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA). Rahimi was speaking during the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Aviation Basic Course here on Wednesday. The ten-day course, which was attended by personnel from the Kingdom's airports, aimed to give Saudi civil aviation staff greater knowledge of international treaties, systems and procedures in order to achieve greater air traffic security protection and to fight illegal activities aimed at the air transportation industry. “We are interested in training Saudi staff so that they can cope with future challenges and changes and help develop the air traffic industry in the Kingdom,” added Rahimi. “We intend to upgrade our civil aviation education programs so that they are among the best in the Middle East, which is why we have arranged for several training courses to be held in cooperation with international experts and consultants.”
