Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said here Sunday the ideal way to ingrain the concept of intellectual security was to use a scientific program. He was inaugurating on behalf of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the First National Conference for Intellectual Security, organized by the Prince Naif Chair for Intellectual Security Studies at King Saud University. “King Abdullah issued his approval for the organizing of the first Intellectual Security Conference, ‘Understandings and Challenges', out of his keenness to guard the security and stability of the sons of this nation and correct thought and guide away from the influence of deviant ideas,” Prince Naif said. The four-day conference is being held at King Saud University's Hamad Al-Jasser Hall with 30 representatives from the Kingdom and abroad. “The Kingdom has been at the head of the nations affected by a breach in the fabric of its intellectual security by some of its sons who fell under the influence of deviant thought.” “The Kingdom has also been at the forefront of nations warning against immoderation and extremism. “Its confrontation of those of deviant thought has not been limited to what has been achieved through the use of deterrent force but has also extended to the use of addressing awareness by submitting those harboring deviant thought to studies and evaluation and guidance,” Prince Naif said.
