A plan to build a database of highly qualified and skilled retirees is in the works, according to Dr, Abdurrahman Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Retirees. He said the association would supply all government agencies and private institutions access to the database so as to enable them to benefit from their expertise by reemploying them if they so desire. Ansari said retirees would be categorized according to their specialties, adding that significant numbers of them have long-standing experience in rare specialties that are in high demand in the labor market. He said that retirees could be rehired as advisers and consultants in government agencies and businesses. Ansari also said that the soaring costs of living and the prices of essentials have badly affected pensioners, especially those with pensions lower than SR3,000 a month. __
