A number of charities have called on the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide emergency assistance to enable them to continue their work and prevent cutting off needy families from financial help. A source at the ministry has revealed that a number of charity groups have been given emergency help over the past few days, notably those working in remote regions. The source said that a number of charities are “going through a financial crisis.” The emergency financial assistance reportedly has an upper limit of SR500,000, with many charities receiving between SR150 and SR200,000. One such charity to receive emergency aid from the ministry has been the Jubail Women's Charity, the source said.
