year-old Jordanian girl suffering from obesity, arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday for medical treatment as per instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz. Upon arrival at Riyadh airbase, the girl, who weighs 145-kilograms, her parents and sister were rushed to a clinic which specializes in obesity at King Khalid University Hospital. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Riwais, undersecretary of King Saud University, Dr. Ayedh Al-Gahtani, leader of the medical team, and the girl's parents hailed King Abdullah's humanitarian gesture in having the girl sent to the Middle East's most advanced clinic for the treatment of obesity. In response to an appeal by the girl on Al-Arabia TV, King Abdullah ordered that she be admitted to King Khalid University Hospital, which accommodates the only clinic in the Middle East specializing in the treatment of obesity and has the world's sole research chair on child and youth obesity.
