Crown Prince Sultan called upon participants of the International Conference on Disability here to look for solutions which would improve the future of the disabled. “I urge you to consider this opportunity to put this conference's recommendations into action. Science and technology have made it easy for nations to communicate with each other, which should make it possible for us to discover a scientific way to help the disabled to overcome their disability, the Crown Prince said in a speech delivered on his behalf by Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Chairman of the Disabled Children's Society. He also pointed out that during the last two decades the Kingdom has increased the number of rehabilitation and disability research centers. Prince Sultan thanked King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for his continued care for the disabled and his keenness to make the disability cause a state priority. “The world today is witnessing an extraordinary phase in the field of science and technology. The opportunities for communication and integration between scientists and specialists are available to them. Now they have access to information resources and enjoy financial support. This opportunity gives us the possibility of implementing scientific research that will lead – God willing – to important scientific discoveries that contribute to avoiding and treating disability in addition to helping persons with disabilities to overcome their disability,” the Crown Prince said.
