More than 185 employees of a contracting company posted at Al-Amal Hospital here on Sunday stopped work in protest against a delay in the payment of their salaries. The staff members alleged that they have not been paid their salaries for the last four months which has caused them undue hardship. The strike decision, they said, came after company officials “failed to meet their demands”. They have also sought the intervention of the hospital director. When contacted, the director offered “no comments since the letter has already been forwarded to the ministry”, A source at the Labor Office called on the employees to follow up their case with the office instead of resorting to the extreme method of stopping work.
