As part of its social responsibility, the Dominos Pizza, a member of Al-Jammaz Group, has recently offered a generous donation of a SR3 million to the Saudi Cancer Society (SCS). The contribution was for providing a mobile clinic for early cancer detection. Dr. Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al-Amr, head of the SCS, appreciated the donation and commented that such contribution is an addition to the private sector's and businessmen's openhanded philanthropy. “This amount will help us reach various people in different parts of the country,” Al-Amr added. He pointed out that cancer's early detection can help a lot in fighting the disease. “Such clinics can greatly help patients restore health as cancer risk lies in late detection, Al-Amr said pointing out that studies have shown hat cancer cases will be on the rise in the future. Meanwhile, Saudi medical institutes are continuing their efforts to find practical medical solutions to combat the deadly disease that has claimed millions of lives. According to Dr. Qasim Al-Qasabi, CED of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has accepted 17 abstracts related to cancer research more common in Saudi Arabia from Riyadh's KFSH&RC, for presentation at the April 18-22 AACR meeting in Denver, Colarado, USA.
