Attiyah, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Thursday welcomed the recent Quartet Arab summit in order to “clear the air” and achieve Arab reconciliation. He also commended the vital and important role undertaken by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in supporting the Arab solidarity. “In this context, the efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques are yet another confirmation that the Kingdom is pushing the current Arab situation of fragmentation to the prospects of coordination, cooperation and solidarity,” Al-Attiyah added. He pinted out to the initiative launched at Kuwaiti summit by King Abdullah to achieve reconciliation between the brothers, stressing the wisdom and right vision enjoyed by the Saudi monarch in addressing the major challenges.
