The Jeddah Islamic Port was briefly shut on Wednesday because of inclement weather. The partial closure of the port affected to and fro movement of at least 10 ships. “Everything will get back to normal as soon as the weather improves. We didn't want to take a risk. Safety comes first,” said Sahir Al-Tahlawi, the port's director. He added that the operations at the port were halted after receiving a warning from the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) of the possibility of low visibility and strong winds. However, the weather did not affect the traffic at King Abdul Aziz International Airport.
